![]() You would be surprised what 2-3 pieces of gear can do for your survivability.Diablo? On consoles? It's more impressive than you'd think-many of the amazing changes that eventually came to Diablo 3 via patches began their lives in the console version, including the upgrades to loot that totally fixed the itemization problems. Remember that strength does give armor, and while it is not the primary stat you are looking for, it always helps. If you are having troubles in Inferno, simply grind the content you are able, earn gold through gold pickup, vendoring and the auction house, and then use that gold to buy upgrades on the auction house prioritizing the replacement of your least defensive gear. This can be true in the sense that we are extremely gear dependent. ![]() One thing to note is that the Barbarian is commonly considered the "worst" class in the game. This will greatly increase your defensive capabilities, and will aid you greatly when soloing. Take Charm, Powered Armor, Disorient and Mass Control for her abilities. Nerves of Steel is a straight up armor increase through your vitality, Superstition gives you a monstrous 20% increased resistance to all non-physical damage types, and Tough as Nails is taken for the 25% increase in armor.įor you Companion choose the Enchantress. You get a huge damage boost, and you also gain 20% in your Dodge Chance and Movement Speed. Using this ability when you are being overwhelmed is a life saver. Wrath of the Berserker is what will give you some much needed dps with stubborn mobs, bosses and treasure goblins. If you find that you have wonderful armor and resists, then the 10% life gained by Invigorate Once your armor is reducing over 70% of all damage, this rune is insurmountably better than Hardened Wrath, but if your armor is low, then by all means use Hardened Wrath. Impunity is the best rune to use, as it will actually benefit you more that 40% armor at high enough armor levels. This adds much required resistances to all forms of damage and is a must for any tank. You need this ability to be activating, and although an additional 3% in healing sounds tempting, it is not worth dying over because Revenge wasn’t activating enough. This gives you large amounts of AoE damage, as well as unbelievable survivability. You will be fighting numerous mobs at once, all of which will be attacking you and your Revenge will be proccing constantly. This ability is the core of the entire build. Bind it to every key on your keyboard and spam it. (Using Demoralize in a group can be effective if your partner(s) are poor at kiting, or you have a dps oriented melee). ![]() Also the other runes are quite situational, and while the potential fear from terrify can be tempting, not having enough mobs attacking you can actually end up getting you killed. ![]() Grim Harvest is used simply to help you in your grind for newer and better gear. I don’t think that I need to stress how huge that reduction is, especially in Inferno difficulty. Threatening Shout reduces all the damage done by enemies within 25 yards by 20%. (You can also use Furious Charge to interrupt mobs about to unleash powerful attacks) Do not waste this skill when fighting mobs, as one misuse can spell disaster when you end up needing it a few seconds later. It allows you to chase fleeing ranged mobs, escape from snares and near death situations and when runed with Dreadnought it can heal you to full with just one click. This makes armor your most important stat, but remember that all forms of damage resist begin gaining diminishing returns( here is a very useful forum post explaining the diminishing returns).įurious Charge is key to this build. Do not forget that both strength and vitality also contribute to your armor, and remember that armor prevents ALL damage done to your character, not just physical. When searching for equipment all resists is a very reccomended stat along with intelligence. You will be able to solo if you have good resists, armor and health along with sustain through your abilities and life on hit. A helm without a socket is almost worthless UNLESS it has absolutely outstanding stats. No socket means no X%(based on gem quality) increase in life or even %mf if it is a mf helm. Also, when deciding on a helm to use/buy the presence of a socket is a huge deal. 19% is acceptable if the stats are tremendous. I always try to use a shield with at least 20% block chance. A shield may give you a bunch of new stats, but if its block chance is only 10% then it is not working very well as a shield. When using a shield make sure you look at the %chance to block. Life on hit is important for your weapon! This build requires a 1 handed weapon and a shield. Nerves of Steel, Superstition, Tough as Nails
